Now the Republican spinners are headed for Oprah. Oprah issues a statement. We have it.
Also, Todd Palin’s former business partner, Scott Richter, learned yesterday (September 4) that his emergency motion (filed 9/3/08) to seal his divorce records has been denied.
The Palins also own a couple of apparently undeveloped properties up on Safari Lake [map]. These are owned in partnership with Scott A. Richter, a friend of the first family.
Is the amorous “business partner” Scott Richter? Who knows but the Alaskans who seem to know all there is to know about each other’s lives.
To: An American In DairylandAlso, Todd Palin was technically not Sarah’s first or maybe I should say her only Dude. The press or a blog mentioned a former boyfriend of hers by the name of Scott Richter. There could, I suppose, be another scandal brewing relative to him and his ex-wife, Debbie as well. It all depends how far back the liberals want to dig.

The Palins also have a number of real estate holdings in Big Lake, AK co-owned by Debbie and Scott Richter. The properties are organied as “Richter Investments LLC.” The Richters also own a portion of the Palins residence in Wasila… (Assuming the Palins live rent free right now in the Governors’ Mansion in Juneau).Interestingly, Debbie Richter was Palin’s campaign treasurer. Richter was awarded a job as the Director of the Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend Division for her service. For those who don’t know, the State of Alaska gives its citizens “free money” checks every year out of this fund. This “free money” comes from oil royalties collected and investments. The Fund is currently worth $35 billion.
Would you choose the Governor’s campaign treasurer – and property co-owner – to honestly hand out oil royalties? Under her leadership in 2006, all Permanent Fund claims from residents (you have to make a claim for your check) were lost in a computer data entry failure…

State policy on co-worker relations
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Sat, 2008-07-26 11:31.There is no such state policy. Even if there were, Debbie Richter was not Bitney’s co-worker. He worked in the Governor’s Office in the Capitol Building and she works in the Dept. of Revenue in another office building. This was not a matter of any state policy being breached. This is an incident right out of high school–“You’re seeing my ex-girlfriend and me and my gang will get you.” The Palins decided to go after Bitney because Scott Richter, Todd’s friend and Sarah’s ex-boyfriend asked them to. Richter is also a business partner with the Palins in investment property in the Mat-Su Valley. The Palins and Scott Richter would not let it go after John Bitney was hired by Rep. Harris. Richter wanted him fired from his new job and the Palins tried to apply pressure to make this happen. They underestimated Rep. Harris who is tough and honorable–qualities foreign to the Palins. This tawdry affair should sicken Alaskans who care about their State. We elected an individual with no moral compass, no education, no background, no experience, just a blinding need to be the most popular girl in school. “Cute” can only take you so far then the veneer starts to peel.
SARAH’S HISTORY……
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Fri, 2008-07-25 00:19.this is from a blogger on the Frontiersman and I thought it perfectly descibed Miss Sarah: “I have known Sarah as long as many who have see her in action as mayor. It is disturbing that over the years her behavior and reaction to trouble and crisis is the same….. (1)FIRST, make yourself a savior and reformer (2) NEXT, bully and control those who do not comply (3) LASTLY, cry “victim” and deflect blame to other people when caught in a lie.” Folks…that pretty much sums Sarah up—think back over the last year and a half—she reacts this very same way every time someone pressures her. Classic. Seems like some sort of character flaw. She really should resign…this really is not going to get any better for any of us as she will just never, ever admit even to a tiny mistake. Remember what her dad said about her in the new “Sarah” book…regarding her STUBBORN streak and that once she made up her mind, NO ONE could get her to change her mind.
..Remember Nixon’s three step plan with Watergate; Deny it, blame your enemies, resign…AH
Apparently no one is….
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Thu, 2008-07-24 15:37.Apparently no one raises them… did you see the rumors last week on the ADN Blog about Bristol Palin and why they are hiding her? Rumor has it that Sarah is now or will be a Grandma soon.
Who is the father?
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Fri, 2008-07-25 17:27.Does anyone know who the father is?
IF THIS IS TRUE—
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Thu, 2008-07-24 17:43.I actually heard this around the time Palin announced she was 7 months along. So…where has Bristol been? Heard she was living with Sarah’s sister. Of course they will keep this quiet–they are the “perfect little family”
Bristol’s pregnancy
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Fri, 2008-07-25 07:27.The rumor I heard was that Bristol has already delivered, and Sarah is passing the baby off as her own. Wow. Where do these rumors start? That particular rumor is so completely far-fetched, but at the same time not out of the realm of possibilities. Especially for someone who is adept at cover-ups. If it is true, it would certainly explain why she never mentioned her pregnancy until she was 7 months along, and it would explain her actions (or lack thereof) in Texas when her water broke. Once your water breaks, infection can occur. An at-risk baby is already fighting certain odds, why do something that could endanger your child’s life before he is even born? That in itself showed seriously poor judgement on Todd and Sarah’s part.
Is Sarah already a Grandma?
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Thu, 2008-07-24 21:46.Sarah hid her pregnancy from us for 7 months. What else is she willing to hide?
I’ve heard it too, but
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Thu, 2008-07-24 21:04.I’ve heard this rumor for the past month or so; but I don’t believe it because I can’t imagine Sarah would keep her V.P. hopes alive with her daughter potentially expecting. This would have come out in a vetting process and McCain wouldn’t have come near such a private, sensitve subject. And Sarah wouldn’t have continued to let Elephant Man (her 21 year old “So-In-Awe-Of-A-Possible-Palin-Presidency” Adam, the misguided idealist promoter in Colorado) and the ever-present-on-every-single-blog-about-possible-vice-presidents in the blogoshere universe, TED, a retired poly sci professor in MA,keep spending 20 hours a day trying to promote her. I can’t believe Sarah’s 17 year old daughter is expecting a baby – because Sarah would have had to have known her chances for a spot as V.P. would be non-existent. She would have had the decency to let Adam and Ted know that there was no possible way she could serve in that post this election cycle. But, while I’m on the subject of Adam and Ted; Andrew, would you mind if I sent a short message to them via your site? If I send it to their “Sarah Palin for V.P.” site, I fear it won’t be shown. Adam and Ted: Gig’s up. Sorry. I know you guys and your friends and family (Adam, didn’t your mom write a pro-Palin piece to try and rally support for her among home-schooling parents?) must all be devastated. You had such high hopes that McCain might actually tap her for his number 2 spot. And you believed what you’d read in the Anchorage Daily News (ADN) and perhaps what you’d seen on KTUU, our State’s Channel 2. You believed Sarah had arrived just in a nick of time to help turn the tide in America – to steer the nation away from financial ruin, toward a stronger military, and into the light of socially conservative policies. You must be deeply disappointed. And, all I can say to you is: Welcome. Welcome to all the crazy myriad of emotions Alaskans are having to sort through: shock, shock and more shock; disbelief; anger; grave disappointment; and — did I mention shock? So, if it’s any solace, you are not alone. Adam, you’re the younger of the two, so, a word to the wise: while it is refreshing to see an eager and willing 21 year old try to turn the tide of history by helping elect a woman to the highest office in the land of the greatest nation ever to exist – next time be a wee bit more cautious to whom you attach your wagon. Sarah is simply a person. She was a phone company receptionist, then a part-time weekend sports newscaster on a once a week Wasilla news program, then a Wasilla city council member, and then Wasilla mayor. She won her second term as mayor with fewer than 1,000 votes – in the little town where she was raised and where she knows just about everyone. It takes a lot more votes to win a seat to the school board in “the Valley” than it does to be elected mayor of Wasilla. Then she decided to run for governor against the least liked sitting governor in the nation. She won. Less than a year later, you and Ted were on the Sarah for V.P. bandwagon, incessantly beating the drums. Let me tip my hat to you: You got Sarah mentioned across the country on more blogs, papers, and newscasts than anyone would have ever imagined. For that, congratulations. You worked hard and your efforts paid off in that it got Sarah coverage. But as an idealist, you fell in love with an ideal: a married mother, beautiful, young, an outdoorsman, a reformer, an ethical goddess, a moral paragon. Is Sarah some of these? Yes. She is a married mother. She is an outdoorsman. She is young and she is beautiful. Is she a reformer, an ethical and moral archetype? No. She’s not. And, painful as the past ten days have been for us as Alaskans, I’m sure they are every bit as difficult for you, Ted and all the others you rallied to your cause. At the end of the day Sarah Palin is a person who is skilled in certain areas but who’s pure ambition was what ruled the day in the end; it trumped all other considerations. I hope she will weather the storm ahead as the gales will be fierce, and that she will come out less the cult-like figure she had become, and wearing the marks of humility. She will be well served if humility and prudence become her travelling partners. Adam – idealism is wonderful – but only through the lens of the truth. Much of what you have been promoting is a mirage. I wish you well in your future endeavors in D.C. Ted – you’re an idealist, too, obviously (pragmatists are not drawn to Sarah – all the constant emotional roller-coastering is off-putting to them); but you’re older. I would have hoped in your journey you would have learned these lessons already. Perhaps we should lay the blame at the feet of the editors and television producers who promoted the idea of Sarah rather than simply the person of Sarah.
Palin’s daughter is a @lut, she could not keep her legs shut before marriage. What kinf=d of parent is Sarah?
SEX BEFORE MARRIAGE IS A SIN! PUNISHABLE ONLY BY DEATH AND HELL! REPENT YE SLUTS! REPENT!! 😡
Hi God, thanks for stopping by – send money.
Love you,

Hi Mitz – well if reports are accurate regarding the date of birth for the first child of Sarah Palin – Sarah is a parent much like her daughter.
Hey guys… visiting from mudflats. Totally going to subscribe to your RSS. numb said to “watch out for the other content on the site” and yeah, love the site 😀
This chick looks like she can screw the balls off a horse if given a few drinks too many. She is a loud mouth, it’s so big I’m sure she puts it to great use and stays on her hands and knees in prayer position.
Has anyone explored the possibility that Sarah, being a mother of five and having a pregnant daughter, is being sanctfied by her family because she is Mormon. Sarah was raised by her parents in Idaho. I suspect she may be Mormon which explains the morals involving the raising and number of children to be associated with the Mormon beliefs and has nothing to do with patriotism or feminist attitudes.
Polygamy was practiced by the Mormons for the sole purpose of creating babies.
Hi Anonymous – I wondered if she’s Catholic, Mormon or just stupid . . . does that count?
Jay Newton-Small at Time Magazine asked Palin some religion questions two weeks ago.
What’s your religion?
Christian.
Any particular…?
No. Bible-believing Christian.
What church do you attend?
A non-denominational Bible church. I was baptized Catholic as a newborn and then my family started going to non-denominational churches throughout our life.
From what I can ascertain she seems to attend a number of different churches.
Thanks for commenting,

Well hello there to our visitor from Mudflats. That’s a fun blog. http://mudflats.wordpress.com/ is a blog written by an Alaskan.
Thanks for coming over and we really love the idea of folks watching out for our content 🙂

Well . . . Mr. Balls . . . how nice of you to comment.
We are very frail flowers around here so I am currently recovering from a fainting spell after reading your comment. I may have something to say later after I am more composed.
Warmest regards,

I came this way from mudflats too. The rumor I originally heard was the Brad guy. Does anyone get the feeling that MAYBE the Richter move was a pathetic attempt by republicans to get people on the wrong scent? Either that or there really is some damning evidence in there.
Maybe we are going to find out that the property they share ownership in is a swingers club or something crazy like that. lol
I don’t know, connecticut man. It could all be a Rove plot to keep us from talking about the issues. If so, it’s working. Poor Sarah – everyone is beating up on her for no reason, she’s hiding out and not having to answer questons, and no one is even discussing McCains record, positions on specific issues or plan for the future.
I love the swinger’s club idea. “The Slippery Seals Sex Club and Dance Hall.”
Sarah “Coathanger” Palin is a poor choice for president for women who don’t want back alley abortions for themselves or their daughters or for anyone else who loves their constitutional civil liberties!
Hi Al –
Thanks for your post. I’m no fan of abortion and personally I don’t “think” that I’d ever choose to have an abortion. On the other hand, the government has no business telling women when they must carry a child to term and that’s especially so in cases of rape/incest.
Here is some information from http://www.guttmacher.org/pubs/tgr/06/1/gr060108.html to back up Al’s concern that making all abortions illegal would result in back alley abortions:
Estimates of the number of illegal abortions in the 1950s and 1960s ranged from 200,000 to 1.2 million per year. One analysis, extrapolating from data from North Carolina, concluded that an estimated 829,000 illegal or self-induced abortions occurred in 1967.
One stark indication of the prevalence of illegal abortion was the death toll. In 1930, abortion was listed as the official cause of death for almost 2,700 women—nearly one-fifth (18%) of maternal deaths recorded in that year. The death toll had declined to just under 1,700 by 1940, and to just over 300 by 1950 (most likely because of the introduction of antibiotics in the 1940s, which permitted more effective treatment of the infections that frequently developed after illegal abortion). By 1965, the number of deaths due to illegal abortion had fallen to just under 200, but illegal abortion still accounted for 17% of all deaths attributed to pregnancy and childbirth that year. And these are just the number that were officially reported; the actual number was likely much higher.
Poor women and their families were disproportionately impacted. A study of low-income women in New York City in the 1960s found that almost one in 10 (8%) had ever attempted to terminate a pregnancy by illegal abortion; almost four in 10 (38%) said that a friend, relative or acquaintance had attempted to obtain an abortion. Of the low-income women in that study who said they had had an abortion, eight in 10 (77%) said that they had attempted a self-induced procedure, with only 2% saying that a physician had been involved in any way.
These women paid a steep price for illegal procedures. In 1962 alone, nearly 1,600 women were admitted to Harlem Hospital Center in New York City for incomplete abortions, which was one abortion-related hospital admission for every 42 deliveries at that hospital that year. In 1968, the University of Southern California Los Angeles County Medical Center, another large public facility serving primarily indigent patients, admitted 701 women with septic abortions, one admission for every 14 deliveries.
A clear racial disparity is evident in the data of mortality because of illegal abortion: In New York City in the early 1960s, one in four childbirth-related deaths among white women was due to abortion; in comparison, abortion accounted for one in two childbirth-related deaths among nonwhite and Puerto Rican women.
Even in the early 1970s, when abortion was legal in some states, a legal abortion was simply out of reach for many. Minority women suffered the most: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that in 1972 alone, 130,000 women obtained illegal or self-induced procedures, 39 of whom died. Furthermore, from 1972 to 1974, the mortality rate due to illegal abortion for nonwhite women was 12 times that for white women.
