Caroline Kennedy Supports Full Marriage Equality and We Support Caroline Kennedy

Caroline Kennedy is educated, smart, caring, dedicated, hard-working, respected, not polarizing, articulate, traveled, well-known, and she can raise money and get votes. In fact, with the position that she has on most issues – she’d get our votes. We totally support her as the next Senator from New York.

The New York Times has published a series of questions and answers by Caroline Kennedy regarding her positions on several issues. One of the most important for us, “Caroline supports full equality and marriage rights for gay and lesbian couples,” wrote spokesman Stefan Friedman. Asked if Ms. Kennedy had written the answers herself, her spokesman, Stefan Friedman, said: “These are Caroline’s positions. The responses were drafted by her and her staff.”

Here is the exact question and Ms. Kennedy’s answer.

Q. Does she support state or federal legislation that would legalize same-sex marriage?

A. Caroline supports full equality and marriage rights for gay and lesbian couples.

McCain’s Desperate Political Stunt – Using a Crisis When He’s Falling in the Polls

What a sham.   McCain puts the country first by using the crisis as a political ploy to garner support.  Lame – very lame.     The guy knows ZIP about this and obviously isn’t needed in Washington to resolve the financial / economic crisis.  He might as well send Sarah Palin.  No one in the country, especially the Senators who know him, have turned to John McCain for a solution to the problem. 

The news accounts are all the same regarding the true facts.  Obama  called McCain this morning suggesting a bipartisan front through a joint statement.   Later McCain agreed to the joint statement, then on a day when he’s falling in the polls, McCain turns around and pulls this desperate political stunt.   If he really wanted Obama to  cancel the debate he had an opportunity earlier in the day to talk to Obama privately.   Instead, he throws this desperate hail Mary and in doing so he shows what a political whore he really is. 

McCain has turned into scum.  What happened? He is a disgrace.

Finally, an honest Republican politician! And, obviously it isn’t this woman.

Quotes from Republican Senator Chuck Hagel:

“She doesn’t have any foreign policy credentials.”

“You get a passport for the first time in your life last year? I mean, I don’t know what you can say. You can’t say anything.”

“I think they ought to be just honest about it and stop the nonsense about, ’I look out my window and I see Russia and so therefore I know something about Russia,’” he said. “That kind of thing is insulting to the American people.”

“But I do think in a world that is so complicated, so interconnected and so combustible, you really got to have some people in charge that have some sense of the bigger scope of the world,” Hagel said. “I think that’s just a requirement.”

“I think it’s a stretch to, in any way, to say that she’s got the experience to be president of the United States,” Hagel said.

What about the “lipstick on a pig” hoopla:    “It’s terrible,” he said. “It debases the system.”
